Overview
The F-14A Bombcat reflected a change of Navy thinking regarding aerial armament, by adding other than missile weaponry only to the F-14 Tomcat. The F-14A is equipped with an M61A-1 20mm rotary cannon and 675 rounds of ammo in the left nose. Missile armament is also provided, most importantly the six huge Phoenix AIM-054 missiles, which can be launched simultaneously; each one tracking a target at a range of nearly 100 miles. Rigged for precision bombing as well, the F-14A Bombcat continues to be the most outstanding strike fighter of the U.S. Navy.

Academy has nailed this Bombcat straight from the USS Kitty Hawk, with precision details such as gun gas vents, antenna and every possible feature found on the real aircraft. It’s all here, JDAM’s, Laser Guided GBU-24 bombs, AN/AAQ-14 LANTIRN Pod, TARPS, AIM-54s AIM-9, AIM-7s, molded with Academy’s passion for precision.
